2017 saw 77 new age records on the road and one on the track. Records were set across the age range from 41 (James Rix – 10 Miles) to 88 (Syd Wilson – 10 and 15 miles).

80 year olds were particularly prolific with new records set by Ken Stevens (10), Syd Wilson (10, 15 & 30), Ron Hallam (15, 25 & 50) and Peter Horsnell (25, 30 & 100) and Gill Henshaw (10 & 25), Barbara Penrice (15 on Tandem) and Greta Spiers (10 on Trike).

Mention should also be made of Gavin Hinxman who set 7 trike records (10, 15, 25 & 50) during the year as well as a new 10 mile age record (age 49).

A full update of national age records will be published shortly on the site and in the December issue of the Veteran.
