Roly Crayford has been in contact with me to clarify that he likes to be known as Roly, whereas in our National & Kent Group age records database he was recorded as Roland and also as Ray.

As one can imagine there can be differences between the names that we have on our birth certificates and what we enter into a membership system, and how we like to be know or acquire as nicknames.
I have similar problems as Geoffrey (only when I'm being told-off by my famility) or Geoff. At secondary school I did considered changing my spelling to Jeffrey/Jeff as the school administrators in their wisdom put two G Perrys in the same school house. The other one was Graham. Fortunately we only had our exams marks mixed up once.
