Two Saturdays ago there was a good response to the group's 10 mile championship, kindly hosted by Ross on Wye & District on R10/17. Almost half our current members were there, ranging from the youngest (Dan Kingston from Cwmcarn), to one of the oldest - Bob Ibell from Bynea. As we have become accustomed, women dominated the results and only Stu Evans (PTW) prevented a clean sweep by rudely elbowing 10 seconds ahead of new member Emma Wyatt, Hereford Wheelers :-)

Needless to say, Clare and Sue are again the South Wales Champion Team of Two, and also took 1st and 2nd Vets' Plus on Standard prizes in the overall event.

Conditions were overcast though fine and dry; a light wind was slightly east of south, which seemed to help while climbing the hill back from the Raglan Turn.

There were impressive performances by women in the other events too: Hayley Simmonds was one of four in the Roadbike category, yet still claimed the fastest woman prize with 20:34 - only 6 seconds short of the Welsh women's 10 mile record; Jessica Rhodes-Jones did 20:54, while Megan Dickerson (current Welsh record holder with 20:28) did 21:00 - both of them in the normal TT bike event.
