If you are over 40, ride a bike and live around parts of Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Staffordshire or Derbyshire then the Manchester & North West group may right for you.
A GENERAL UPDATE
Here we are into the month of May and still the weather can confuse us.
Brave souls ventured out on Easter Monday and were rewarded with some good rides, more later.
I look at the event diary for May and see more empty weekends than event full weekends.
Events are cancelled or postponed and an ever-increasing number of events taking place in September and October. Adds to the challenge of maintain a level of form for such a longer period than normal and the increasing chance that, again, the weather worsens.
Looking forward to 2022 there is an intention that the Group will stage the VTTA National
15 ml Championship.
It will be our aim to enable all those that wish to ride the opportunity to do so.
We will need marshals and we are giving early warning to all members, and others, that we will be calling on you.
At this moment Mike Cotgreave is offering his services as organiser together with Tracy Rowlinson.
As an added bit of spice there is now a Manchester & NW VTTA club on Strava.
In the background the discussion regarding the rebranding of the Association goes on mainly through the National Forum platform.
If you wish to express an opinion please do so and contact Tony Farrell or Nev Ashman.
On a sad note, many of us will be aware that local cycle dealer of many years, Rick Green, passed away recently.
A longstanding presence in Handforth the shop was the focus for many cyclists.
Condolences are offered to the family.
