It is with great sadness that I am letting folk know of the death of Derek on Sunday 26 January.

Derek was a very popular and successful timetriallist in our area.

Always cheerful, very talented as his palmares below shows.

Over the past few years he did not enjoy the best of health particularly for a period after a cycling accident. 

Throughout his recent health issues he maintained a really cheerful disposition and always endeavoured to be on his smart trainer.

For many years he was a mainstay in the MnD organisation and a really positive presence at VTTA annual awards lunches.

He will be missed at events and functions and in particular at the annaul prize presentation where he was always the star of the show as Raffle Master!!!

Beaten holder of 14 indoor track records at Manchester, including World Hour Age record in 1996
Current holder of 5 outdoor track records at Leicester and 1 past record.
